No Snap Judgments, Please

The Addams family members seem to be quite different than you and I…at least on the surface. If you met any of them on the street, you would probably cross to the other side, thinking them very strange indeed.

But a closer look reveals that they are caring of each other, have likes and dislikes, have strong family traditions, and, in general, are very much like you and I after-all.

Making snap judgments about people can prevent us from getting to know them for who they really are, can lead to distrust, and sometimes, even hatred and violence.

Taking the No Snap Judgments Pledge is a good start. What else can you and your students do to avoid making snap judgments?

Take the Pledge!
